Housing Associations

   15th NOVEMBER 2012

The Social Housing Pension Scheme Seminar will be held at UNISON Centre, London on the 15th November 2012. Many employees of Housing Associations are members of the Social Housing Pension Scheme (SHPS), but with a growing deficit and auto-enrolment on the horizon, the pensions on offer are being ‘dumbed down’ and some employers are considering closing their schemes.

Advice on the SHPS has been issued to branches (and is at www.unison.org.uk/acrobat/6080.pdf),
but the Community Service Group has also organised a seminar to bring activists together to understand the issues and resist attacks on the pension
scheme.  A draft programme is enclosed.

If you are in the Social Housing Pension Scheme and are interested in attending this seminar please let Branch Office know by Wedenesday 31st October.
