Housing Associations

The Social Housing Pension Scheme Seminar will be held at UNISON Centre, London on the 15^th November 2012. Many employees of Housing Associations are members of the Social Housing Pension Scheme (SHPS), but with a growing deficit and auto-enrolment on the horizon, the pensions on offer are being ‘dumbed down’ and some employers are considering closing their schemes.

Advice on the SHPS has been issued to branches (and is at www.unison.org.uk/acrobat/6080.pdf),
but the Community Service Group has also organised a seminar to bring activists together to understand the issues and resist attacks on the pension
scheme.  A draft programme is enclosed.
